Sir,
With reference to your letter of the th October last No. 31770/14 relative to the pension
of Ir. D. Foley, li te Lance Sergeant of Police in
Hong Kong, I have the honour to report that informRE. —
tion has revched us of the death of 'r. Foley on
the 20th February.

2. Since r. Foley's death we received a
letter from. the Government of Hong Kong asking us
to recover from him the sum of 50 advanced to
him prior to his departure from the Colony.
sum, which at the current rate of exchange mounta
to bout £4.10.7. sterling, exceeds the unpaid
pension in our hands due to the estate (£1.17.5.) and
I have to enquire whether the Secretary of State
desires us to attempt to recover the difference from
the executor of Hr. Foley's will,
